The man behind a character in a popular Paramount Network series is visiting East Palestine in the wake of February's toxic train derailment.

Luke Grimes plays a man named Kayce Dutton in 'Yellowstone,' a five season long series about a family of ranchers in Montana.

Grimes will visit the village Friday, March 31st alongside the Jeff Ruby Family, who own and operate several steakhouses around the state.

They'll be giving away 250 water filtration systems to residents, on a first-come, first serve basis. Those will be distributed at The Original Roadhouse on West Main Street beginning at 8 a.m.

"While our water is already safe to drink, the generous donation of water filtration systems will provide an extra layer of protection and peace of mind for our residents while further enhancing the quality of our water supply," said East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway.

At a later date, Grimes and the Ruby family will give East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway a check for over $100,000 to go toward recovery efforts..

"We are extremely grateful for this generous donation from Luke Grimes and the Jeff Ruby Family," said Conaway. "Their support will help us move forward toward our vision of a thriving and resilient community."

Grimes, a Dayton native, says that as soon as he heard about the derailment he knew he had to help.

"With this visit and the dedicated fundraising, we hope we are able to continue to shine a light on this devastating incident and inspire others to step up and help too," said Grimes.
