The Penguin Collective is excited to announce the receipt of its first large-scale donation from the Dobson Family operating as SERVPRO - Team Dobson. SERVPRO - Team Dobson, servicing Allegheny, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Mahoning, Trumbull, and Tuscarawas counties, gifted $200,000 to Penguin Collective earmarked for the Mens’ Basketball Fund. The capital will serve to advance Penguin Collective’s mission by helping YSU student-athletes build their personal brands as they navigate their college careers and provide them with opportunities to monetize endorsements using their name, image, and likeness.

“We are thrilled to contribute to this initiative and help build a positive future for student-athletes and their personal brands. Seeing the filled Beeghly Center and the excitement and anticipation of winning makes this opportunity one we can’t miss. We’re taking a leadership role and encouraging the community to join in to help provide the resources necessary for a winning program,” stated Owner and CEO, Jim Dobson.

According to NCAA.org, fewer than 2% of NCAA student-athletes go on to pursue professional sports careers. Most student-athletes depend on their college experience to prepare them for life after college. Penguin Collective will aid in bridging this gap by serving to facilitate community and business partnerships, amplifying financial literacy, and creating financial equity for student-athletes.

Rocco Nolfi, General Manager of the YSU Men’s Basketball Fund, extended a special thank you to the Dobson Family for their generous donation, stating “The SERVPRO - Team Dobson family’s contribution will elevate Youngstown State athletes with name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities and set them apart from colleges across the nation.”

Penguin Collective is also a new opportunity for fans, boosters, and donors to earmark contributions for specific student-athletes, departments, and teams of their choice. CJ Hilbert, Co-Founder of the Penguin Collective, former student-athlete, and Staff Accountant of CFO Services at HD Davis CPAs, added “I’m truly grateful to be a part of something that is going to help student-athletes develop their Name, Image, and Likeness along with creating relationships with different businesses and people in the community.”

Parties interested in donating are encouraged to visit the organization website, sign up for the Penguin Collective newsletter, and follow @GuinCollective on social media for updates. Contributions can also be made out to Penguin Collective and mailed to:
