Sebring National Honors Society welcomes five new members this month

SEBRING, Ohio - The Sebring National Honors Society (NHS) has welcomed five new members this month.
The new members (pictured above in purple from left to right) are as follows:
- Emma Seevers
- Mackenzie Koemer
- Johnathan Billingsly
- Blake Thomas
- Carlli Ruzek
In order to qualify for NHS, students must meet certain academic criteria and submit essays pertaining to the the organization's pillars of scholarship, leadership and character to be considered for induction.
Senior NHS member, Sadie Barker says being in NHS is special to her because it stands for the fundamental values she's developed throughout her life.
"The kids involved in NHS are some of the brightest and kindest kids in the school and I am happy to do projects with them, whether it's fundraisers or hosting blood drives," Barker said.
In addition to that volunteer work, members also spend their time completing service projects throughout the community such as selling glow necklaces for the Sebring Historical Society, helping at food pantries and ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.
Congratulations to the newest Sebring NHS inductees.
