Youngstown City School District's East High School Principal is the recipient of the Outstanding Principal and Administrator award.

The Ohio Association of Black School Educators chose Principal Debra Campbell after she was nominated for her leadership that is recognizable amongst her administrative team. The organization recognizes principals and administrators who show strong leadership skills throughout their career.

"I am humbled and truly honored to be recognized as an OABSE Outstanding Principal," Campbell said. "Our scholars and team at East motivate me to continue our work, which is a commitment to education. I look forward to continuing serving at East High School and collaborating with our staff, families and community to foster an environment of excellence."

The OABSE Regional Conference will be held from April 20-22, 2023. Youngstown City School District Superintendent Justin Jennings is going to be the keynote speaker at the award recognition banquet being held April 22.

Campbell has the opportunity to select a scholar of her choice to be honored at the ceremony for their commitment to the community.
