WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man has pleaded not guilty to charges filed after police say he nearly drove his car into the scene of a murder investigation.

According to a police report, officers were investigating the shooting of two people along Lener Avenue on Sunday when 34-year-old Michael Bobbitt allegedly was speeding along Oak Street, almost into the crime scene.

Police say the car then backed down Oak Street “uncontrollably at a high rate of speed” driving into a ditch.

Bobbitt was handcuffed and booked into the county jail on charges of reckless operation and misconduct at a crime scene.

Another court hearing is set for Bobbitt on March 9.
