Campbell restaurant boarded up, declared nuisance due to multiple gun violence incidents

CAMPBELL, Ohio - A local restaurant has been boarded up and declared a nuisance due to multiple incidents involving gunfire.
Campbell Police Chief, Kevin Sferra tells 21 News numerous calls were made to police regarding fights, gunfire and shootings at Papa's Puerto Rican Cuisine in Campbell.
The restaurant is located in a residential area and Sferra tells us multiple houses were hit by stray bullets from these incidents.
"We don't want to chase away businesses, but we don't want our residents to have to deal with these kinds of issues," Sferra said.
The building will be boarded up for at least the next two weeks. From there, a hearing will be held in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas regarding the building.

21 News previously reported on gun violence at Papa's in January of 2022, speaking to then Campbell Police Chief, Pat Kelly, who said he was discussing ways to stop this violence with the restaurant owner.
