YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Beaver Township woman was sentenced in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday on charges filed after a fatal crash that took place along Interstate 680 in Youngstown more than two years ago.

Jayce Klink, 24 of Beaver Township was sentenced to 12 months in prison, as well as a five year suspension on her license. 

In January, Klink pleaded guilty to charges of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and Vehicular Assault in connection with a fatal accident that occurred near the Glenwood Ave. exit on I-680, in which Tiara Whatley of Austintown was killed.

Traffic investigators say Klink was driving a Ford Focus south in the northbound lane of the interstate on the night of December 2, 2020, when her car ran head-on into a Chevy Impala in which Whatley was a passenger.

Tiara Whatley died from her injuries.  The driver of the Impala, Sharinda Whatley was injured.

Possible penalties for Klink could include prison time, fines, and a driver's license suspension.
