Brookfield police have released body camera footage from the moments when they had to make a deadly decision.

The video is from March 21 when police say they shot and killed 50-year-old Fred Wild III of Girard.

The incident stemmed from a police pursuit from the previous day when Wild allegedly led officers on a multi-community chase from Lordstown to Brookfield.

During that chase, Wild got his car stuck on railroad tracks off of Merwin Chase Road and took off on foot. Police released dash camera video of the pursuit a week ago.

Officers were not able to locate Wild that night but eventually located him in the early morning hours of March 21 when he was trespassing at a cabin on State Route 7.

That's when Wild allegedly drove the stolen truck with a snow plow attached seen in the body camera video at police.

Police say they shot Wild when he drove at them.

The Trumbull County Coroner ruled the shooting death a homicide and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is still investigating.

The officers involved in the shooting have not been identified.
