LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio - Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Lawrence D’Amico has released the identity of a body found inside a burning home in Leavittsburg.

The body was identified as 66-year-old Daniel Redick. Dr. D'Amico tells 21 News the cause of death was determined to be thermal injury with total body full thickness burns and the manner was ruled as an accident.

The Ohio Fire Marshal investigated what firefighters deemed a suspicious fire that broke out in a one-story home on the 1000 block of Layer Road SW back in April of 2023.

Firefighters say Redick's  body was discovered as crews from Warren Township, Lordstown, Braceville, Southington, Newton Falls and Champion battled the flames.

One neighbor was taken to a hospital for treatment after falling while watching the fire.

Fire investigators say damage to the home was extensive enough as to make it unlivable.
