Bond set at $250,000 for Ellwood City drug suspects
A three-month-long investigation into suspected drug trafficking in Ellwood City has been capped off with three arrests.
The Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office announced that its High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and local police conducted a search Thursday of an apartment building at 217 Fifth Street, Ellwood City.
Police say the search turned up nearly 11 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 16 grams of cocaine, and 25 amphetamine pills.
In addition, the task force said they seized several used heroin bags, three digital scales, and other items police say could be used to manufacture controlled substances.
Nicolas Nazari, 22, and Andrew Hammond,23, both of Ellwood City were arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Nazari was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men were jailed on a $250,000 bond.
A third person, Micah Ndungu was arrested on a prior warrant.
