Canfield Local Schools are being recognized for their educational dedication to students with family members in the military. 

The Ohio Department of Education has selected Canfield High School and Canfield Village Middle School as a Purple Star Schools for their commitment to serving military connected students and families.

"Ohio Purple Star Advisory Board established a set of important criteria that we met to receive Purple Star designation and I am proud of our students, staff and community. On behalf of the entire district, we thank our military families for the sacrifices they make for our country," says Canfield Superintendent Joe Knoll. 

Future Forward Ohio, the state's strategic priorities for education, recognizes the importance of overcoming obstacles to learning.

To be successful in school and when transitioning between school settings, Ohio's military-connected youth require supports to ensure their unique social, emotional and academic needs are met.

The Purple Star award signifies that Canfield High School and Canfield Village Middle School demonstrated commitment to serving these students and families.
