Part of West Federal Street in Downtown Youngstown to close for remediation project

YOUNGSTOWN - West Federal Street between Market Street and Phelps Street will be closed for two weeks beginning next week.
Starting April 24, the street will be closed for approximately two weeks for a crane replacement related to the 20 Federal Place Remediation and Redevelopment project.
Crews were on scene working on Youngstown's 20 Federal on Thursday.
Workers were seen taking down an awning on the front of the building as they started renovations on the sixth and seventh floors.
The city received a $6.9 million remediation grant with a completion deadline of June 30th of this year.
20 Federal was once the Strauss Department store for decades until 1986 and then Pharmor drugstore in 1988.
Detours will be posted for the West Federal Street closure.
