Meijer helps customers dispose of prescription drugs
Drug Take Back kiosks are set up outside the Meijer pharmacy for those who want to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a day to recognize the risks of medications getting into waterways and the environment.
Several companies and police departments have Drug Take Back boxes available for unused or expired medications that need disposed of.
Meijer is one of the companies participating in Drug Take Back Day. Customers can bring their unused or expired medications to the kiosks set up near the Meijer pharmacy. Opioids, controlled substances and over-the-counter medications are all accepted by the pharmacy.
In spring 2022, Meijer collected 3 tons worth of medications.
Meijer, located at 1400 Boardman-Canfield Rd., is open until midnight on Drug Take Back Day 2023. Call 234-387-3040 for more information.
