A local Warren church is inviting clergy and congregations to attend its mental illness and drug addiction workshop Thursday for those directly or indirectly affected by the disease.
The event will occur at 6 pm Thursday, April 27, at the Restoration Christian Fellowship Church, 760 Main Avenue SW., Warren, Ohio.
The goal of the workshop is to help parishioners learn about recovery and substance abuse and to be equipped with the tools and resources to support their congregation and community.
Pastor Greg Delaney, the Community Engagement Specialist at Woodhaven and a council member of Governor DeWine’s Recovery Ohio Advisory Council, will provide a presentation on how church congregations and church leaders, can learn to help those in need. Pastor Joseph Walker Jr., President of Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, will host the meeting.
The workshop is open to everyone in the community, to all churches, regardless of church affiliation.
Those planning to attend are asked to let Carol Holmes-Chambers of the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board know by emailing her at cholmeschambers@trumbullmhrb.org.
