Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine has awarded over $42 million in grants to support physical safety and security upgrades to schools across Ohio, many of which are right here in the Mahoning Valley.

The funds are all part of the fifth round of Ohio's K-12 School Safety Grant Program, bringing the total number of schools served by this program to 2,789 and the total amount of funding awarded to over $215 million.

The funding will pay for physical security expenses such as new security cameras, PA systems, automatic door locks, visitor badging systems and exterior lighting.

The following schools in the Mahoning Valley were recipients of grant money.

MAHONING COUNTY:
