It has been a few weeks since tenants at Sharon Towers face eviction notices after fire inspector reports found over 60 safety code violations.

Now, many of the displaced residents are staying at hotels around the city. The Shenango Valley Urban League is bearing hotel costs for residents.

Some tenants, like Aaron Blomgren,  are optimistically pushing through while they search for a new housing.

"I am doing all right as of this moment. I know I filled out applications for the housing unit, I just have to wait until my birth certificate comes in to finalize the paperwork to try to find me a home," Blomgren said.

Other tenants, like Timothy Henry,  are still frustrated by the sudden displacement, as they were unable to collect their belongings before the fire department shut the building down.

"It's not good. [You] can't cook your own food," Henry told 21 News.

Despite the untimely eviction, social service organizations are showing compassion and providing relief to the tenants.

Pastor Jennifer Campbell of Breath of Life Tabernacle of the Shenango Valley and local chefs are looking forward to providing tenants with a fine dining experience at the hotel , as a ray of hope during times of despair.

On May 7 at 4 p.m. at the Park Inn by Radisson the church and notable chefs will provide food and community for the tenants.

Social service agencies have already helped some people find new homes with promises to pay the first months rent for all tenants.
