The village of Lordstown welcomed its first-ever K9 officer on Monday.

Hailing from the Netherlands, K9 Jo-Chie specializes in narcotics and tracking. He was purchased through community donations.

Lordstown had hoped to raise $15,000 to get started. The village got that and much more getting more than double that amount.

The extra donations will be used for dog food and vet costs.
