Youngstown City Council 6th Ward will be heading for a recount, with incumbent Anita Davis down by 3 votes.
Her opponent for the seat, Janet Tarpley, received 223 votes to Davis' 220 votes Tuesday.
Councilwoman Davis was first elected to office in November 2015, and was running for her third term in the position.
Tarpley is a 1984 graduate of South High School and a 2006 graduate of Youngstown State University.
She worked for 30 years at the Mahoning Juvenile Court before retiring and was a member of Youngstown City Council from 2008 through 2015.
