Newton Falls man accused of firing shotgun at man in truck

A Newton Falls man is behind bars after allegedly firing a shotgun at a man in a truck multiple times Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report from the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. when the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Matthew Mollohan stepped out of a camper with a shotgun and fired multiple in the victim's direction while screaming and cursing at him to leave.
Deputies say the victim fled the scene in his vehicle to call police after this.
Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to Mollohan, who explained that he was sleeping in the camper and woke up to multiple people in his driveway.
According to the report, the victim was on the property to purchase the truck from a woman who was on the property with her twin brother and his girlfriend.
When asked why he didn't simply call 911 regarding these unknown people on the property, Mollohan told deputies he did not know why and that he just wanted them to leave. Mollohan was then placed under arrest and the shotgun was seized.
Deputies spoke to the woman who was selling the vehicle. The woman explained that the vehicle was being worked on by Mollohan prior to being sold to the victim.
The woman went on to tell deputies that she had advised Mollohan that she and the others would be on the property to get the vehicle via Facebook Messenger, but when they arrived, Mollohan threatened to shoot them if they didn't leave.
Mollohan is currently in the Trumbull County Jail and is charged with four counts of Felonious Assault and one count of Violating a Protection Order.
