Members of the Newton Falls High School Senior Class could be seen around the city early Monday taking part in a long-time tradition.
Supervised by teachers, the students wearing bright blue t-shirts were out and about in teams participating in Senior Service Day.
Student volunteers grabbed rakes, wheelbarrows, bags, and gloves to clean up parts of the city.
Groups were bused to Veteran’s Park, City Hall, and the Courthouse to mulch, weed, and rake.
Other teams picked up trash around First and Sixth Streets.
Equipment was funded through a Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste Management District grant.
