CANFIELD - The Northern Ohio PGA Professional Championship is coming to the Tippecanoe Country Club in August,

Its the first time the event is back in the Mahoning Valley in nearly two decades.

"We'll have about 60 to 70 PGA professionals and assistants that grow the game everyday and our playing in our biggest tournament in Northern Ohio," said PGA Northern Ohio Executive Director David Grifftih.

The tournament is August 21-23 at the new and improved TCC.

"The course conditions play about 7-thousand yards, " said club pro Mike Spiech. "I think people are going to come out here and say what a great course this is and they didn't know that this was in the Youngstown area."

The tournament will qualify the top five finishers onto the PGA Professional National Championship in 2024, where the top 20 finishers move onto the PGA Championship.

The tournament at Tippecanoe Country Club comes with the blessings of the membership and sponsors.

"We have two great members that are help sponsoring the event," said Spiech.

"B & T Express and Mr. Tom Cook & Mr. Breen O'Malley are helping sponsor along with Club Car and Rolex, so it's a high end event," added Spiech.
