EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - Residents in East Palestine were able to meet with the Ohio EPA Thursday night to discuss water testing progress and results following the February train derailment.

Multiple sites throughout the village have been tested since the derailment and tonight the Ohio EPA announced that they're moving water testing from an emergency stage to an assessment and eventual remediation stage of testing.

"SO THE NEXT THING WE'RE GONNA BE DOING IS LOOKING AT SEdIMENT AND SEDIMENT QuALITY BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE THE SAME QUESTIONS," Bill zawiski, environmental supervisor of water quality group Ohio EPA, said. "HOW FAR CAN THE CONTAMINATION GO? IS IT STILL THERE? IT WAS THERE, WE KNEW IT WAS THERE, WHAT IS STILL GOING ON?"

The Ohio EPA will be doing a biological survey this summer where they will look at various fish and insects that live in the streams in East Palestine to compare how water quality was prior to the derailment compared to after.
