SHARON, Pa. - A Sharon woman is accused of intentionally running over a woman in a wheelchair in a hit and run crash late Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. near the 300 Block of Quinby Street.

According to a press release from Sharon Police, a 63-year-old woman was traveling on the sidewalk in a motorized wheelchair, when a 2021 Ford Fiesta drove up to her, intentionally struck her and drove away without providing aid.

According to a criminal complaint, the driver identified as 41-year-old Audrey Harris, allegedly uttered something along the lines of "I'm going to hit this [expletive] with my car" to a witness just before the crash.

Police believe Harris to have been intoxicated at the time of the incident. It is unknown whether or not the suspect and victim were known to each other as of this writing.

The complaint states that the woman suffered a "serious bodily injury," a laceration on her right forearm and possibly broken ribs. She's currently in the hospital, but police say they do not know of her condition.

Harris is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, attempted homicide by a vehicle, aggravated vehicular assault while DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, recklessly endangering another person, DUI, criminal mischief and driving under suspension.
