LORDSTOWN, Ohio - A routine traffic stop over the weekend turned into an arrest and recovery of a stolen firearm by the Lordstown Police.
On Saturday, an officer pulled over Savion Woodall of Warren. During the stop, police say there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
After a search, the officer discovered illegal narcotics alongside a gun. An investigation into the gun found that it was reported stolen to the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office earlier this year.
Woodall is charged with improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and having weapons under disability due to a previous conviction.
His charges have been bound over to the Trumbull County Grand Jury.
