Youngstown State University celebrated Warren "Bud" Williamson and his family at the new Williamson Innovation Park Saturday afternoon.

The Innovation Park is a new educational space for technology and exploration made possible by a land and monetary donation by Williamson to the YSU Foundation.

The facility will be used by YSU student competition teams such as Design-Build-Fly, Penguin Baja, Penguin Combat Robotics, Lunar Rover and Concrete Canoe, as well as university STEM programs and K-12 academic programs.

The property sits on a 165-acre parcel of the 243 acres donated in Canfield with a pond and runway for remote controlled planes. An over $3 million endowment was also established as part of the gift for educational purposes and to help maintain the property.
