A 70-year-old Liberty Township man has been arrested in a child pornography investigation.

Township Police on Monday arrested Dennis Heil at his mobile home on Churchill Hubbard Road following an investigation that began in mid-March through a tip from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

As a result, Heil has been charged with one felony count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

After being booked into the county jail, Heil appeared for a video arraignment on Tuesday where his bond was set at $12,500.

Another hearing in Girard Municipal Court is scheduled for May 31.

According to its website, the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a federal anti-crime initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Justice.

It is a collaboration of city, county, state, and federal law enforcement authorities across Ohio whose mission is to identify, arrest and prosecute individuals who use the Internet to lure minors into illicit sexual relationships; or use the Internet to produce, distribute or solicit child pornography.
