A former correctional officer at a Youngstown prison will spend a year behind bars.
Terry Terrigno, 30, was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to charges of providing narcotics, marijuana and tobacco to inmates and accepting bribes.
The judge handed down a one-year prison term followed by two years probation.
According to court documents, Terrigno, of Canfield, smuggled suboxone, marijuana and tobacco to inmates at the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center.
In return for the drugs, Terrigno was given electronic bribery payments through a mobile phone app.
Court records say the operation happened for more than two years between February 2017 to July 2019.
