CANFIELD, Ohio - Charges have been amended for a Macedonia man involved in a crash on the Ohio Turnpike in Beaver Township that killed a 29-year-old Salem man.

Twenty-five-year-old Nikolas Gable was found guilty of an amended charge of Reckless Operation, which is a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Originally, he was charged with Vehicular Manslaughter, which is a second-degree misdemeanor.

The charge stems from an incident from August of 2022 when Gable was driving along the turnpike when 29-year-old Nicholas Cyphert was just getting done fixing his tractor trailer.

While Cyphert was walking back to retrieve his safety triangles, Gable struck him, along with the tractor trailer with his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
