McDonald's of Northeast Ohio presents $91.1k check to Brightside Project for derailment victims

SALEM, Ohio - McDonald's of Northeast Ohio visited the Brightside Project in Salem on Friday to present a large check for over $91,000.
The non-profit was presented with a $91,179.22 check with the funds going towards helping the residents of East Palestine as they recover from February's train derailment disaster develop skills to overcome any adversity in life.
These funds were generated from a day-long campaign held in late March where McDonald's restaurants across Northeast Ohio donated 20% of all sales made between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to the Brightside Project's relief fund.
That effort was led by Columbiana County McDonald's operator, Steve Telischek with restaurant owners across Northeast Ohio all jumping on board.
