The 56-year old Valley Road bridge in Jefferson Township, Mercer County will soon be closed for rehabilitation according to a release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

According to PennDOT, the Valley Road Bridge, which carries Route 3022 over the Shenango River in Jefferson Township, will be closed from June 12th through late August so that crews can resurface, repair, and paint the bridge over the summer.

During the repairs, PennDOT says drivers will need to follow detour signs for 16.5 miles using routes 3039, 258, and 18.
