'Meet the Helpers' responders event planned in East Palestine

The people of East Palestine will have a chance to meet some of the people who have been working to monitor health and safety in the village since the February 3rd Norfolk Southern train derailment.
A “Meet the Helpers” event is scheduled for June 14, 6 - 7 p.m. at the East Palestine Memorial Public Library, 309 North Market Street.
The session is being billed as an “outreach opportunity” to meet and interact with first responders and see their vehicles up close.
The U.S. EPA is scheduled to be at the event with the Trace Atmospheric Gas Analyzer bus.
Called “TAGA” for short, the self-contained mobile laboratory is capable of real-time monitoring of outdoor air or emissions.
The mobile lab lets the EPA get air results in real-time for specific chemicals instead of having to send the samples offsite to a lab.
