A Boardman man who has run afoul of the law before is in trouble again.  This time for using his car to block off a van in Boardman Township Park because he said he believed the driver was looking for someone to kidnap.

Alex Carnahan, 21, is due in county court Thursday to answer a charge of disorderly conduct filed after Township Police say he used his white sedan to corral a large van in a park parking lot a week ago.

Police say Carnahan called 9-1-1 to report that he had blocked in a van being driven by an older male whom he said he believed was “driving around to find someone to kidnap.”

Because of the situation, police say they initiated an emergency response and found the two vehicles in a lot near the St. James Meeting House on park property.

According to the police report, Carnahan told officers that he was getting “raper vibes” and “pedo vibes” from the van’s driver, who said that Carnahan had been following him around.

Although the driver of the van told officers he didn’t want to pursue charges, Carnahan was given a citation for disorderly conduct.

It was just one year ago this week that Carnahan was sentenced to 90 days in jail, 87 days of which were suspended, with a requirement to report to the Mahoning County Sheriff's day reporting program for ten days.  Carnahan was also placed on probation for a year after pleading guilty to theft, criminal damaging, and misuse of 9-1-1.

Those charges stemmed from earlier that April when police say Carnahan was seen on security video at the Boardman Meijer smashing produce, spraying lubricant on the floor, lighting candles on display, eating ice cream he hadn’t paid for, and calling 9-1-1 on a store phone, and leaving the receiver off the hook.

Less than a week before Carnahan was sentenced in that case, Boardman Police cited him for disorderly conduct claiming he was being loud and offensive after a truck he was in had been pulled over on a traffic stop.
