No jail time for corrections officer for drug offenses

A former corrections officer at the Columbiana County Jail will not face jail time for bringing drugs into the lockup.
County Prosecutor Steven Yacovone tells 21 News McCoy, 53, was sentenced to three years probation and 90 days house arrest for bringing suspected crack cocaine, methamphetamine and suboxone into the jail.
McCoy was caught on Oct. 7, 2021, attempting to bring drugs into the jail.
In March, McCoy pleaded guilty to illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified government facility, possession of fentanyl-related compound and two counts aggravated possession of drugs and misdemeanor possession of drugs.
