Poland woman arrested, accused of falsifying rape allegation

A Poland woman has been arrested after claiming she was raped in the township park by a man who police say appears to have been out of town at the time of the alleged crime.
Nicole Ginnis, 28, was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Sunday and then released.
According to complaints filed in Struthers Municipal Court, Ginnis first reported the alleged rape to a nurse at Mercy Hospital last month, claiming it took place three days earlier as she was walking her dog at Poland Township Park.
Police say Ginnis told them that she was raped by a man that she knew.
The police report states that the man told officers that he was in Indiana at the time of the alleged rape. Police say a review of mobile phone records and his airline travel account supports the man’s claim that he was in Indianapolis at the time of the alleged incident.
Ginnis faces charges of falsification, making false alarms, and obstructing official business.
