WARREN, Ohio - Several juveniles were detained in Warren after a violent altercation at a birthday party Saturday night.

According to a police report from Warren PD, police were dispatched to the intersection of Drexel Avenue and Parkman Road shortly before 11:00 p.m. Saturday in reference to a large fight occurring in a parking lot.

Upon arrival, police observed a group of people who appeared to be arguing. Police detained multiple people involved in the altercation in order to avoid escalation.

According to police, officers also detained a juvenile for allegedly throwing a glass bottle in the parking lot causing it to shatter. The juvenile told police she threw the bottle in an attempt to break up the fight.

One adult suspect, 32-year-old Darius Carr was issued a summons for Obstructing Official Business. Police say they released the juvenile and that they will be consulting a juvenile prosecutor regarding possible charges.

Several police departments responded to the scene, but police say there were no reported injuries.

All of those detained were released, according to the report and police will follow up with the juvenile prosecutor Monday to discuss possible charges.

Warren Safety Service Director Eddie Colbert declined to go on camera but tells 21 News he'll have a series of meetings with the mayor and others to discuss what can be done to stop violent situations among teens in the city.

Colbert says this instance is a microcosm of what they've been seeing with their youth lately and they simply don't know what the solution is.

21 News reached out for comment from Mayor Doug Franklin several times and as of 5:54 pm Monday, we've received no response.
