Struthers receives $1 million for bike lanes, traffic calming
The city will use the money to add bike lanes and curb extensions, seeking to alleviate downtown traffic.

The city of Struthers could soon see it's traffic relax after receiving $1 million in funds through Ohio's Systemic Safety Funding Program.
The program, administered by the state Department of Transportation, aims to prevent accidents between vehicles and pedestrians, as well as reduce the frequency of accidents at intersections.
ODOT's program is one of the nation's largest, and allocates $185 million every year towards pedestrian safety and traffic relief.
The project in Struthers will include the installation of bike lanes, and curb extensions along Bridge Street.
While the funding has been allocated, it won't be disbursed to the city until fiscal year 2026.
