Struthers woman killed in Coitsville crash

COITSVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Coitsville Township that claimed the life of a Struthers woman.
The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. Sunday on SR-616 at McGuffey Road, north of US-422.
Troopers say a Nissan Versa, driven by Brittany Rivera, 28, of Struthers, failed to yield at a stop sign at McGuffey Road and was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox, driven north on Route 616 by Elaine Graban, 71, of Hubbard with Michael Graban, 72, in the front passenger seat.
Both vehicles traveled off the west side of 616 with the Versa striking a utility pole, then traveling through a field, striking a tree, and coming to rest in the woods.
Elaine Graban and Michael Graban sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Mercy Health Hospital in Youngstown.
Brittany Rivera, who had to be removed from the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash according to the patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
