Sixth annual 5k on the Runway set for Saturday, July 15
The sixth annual 5k on the Runway at Youngstown-Warren regional airport has been set for Saturday, July 15th.
Runners should arrive to the airport at 7:00am to register, and the price to enter is $35. The race begins one hour later at 8:00am.
Entry in the event includes a commemorative medal, tee shirt, and refreshments.
The race is hosted by the Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council, who says the proceeds from the event benefit the 910th Airlift Wing of the Youngstown Air Reserve.
Runners won't be alone on the course, either. According to a release from YARBCC, runners who make it to the air base's flight deck will be met by a C-130 Hercules and Ford Trimotor, giving them a chance to see the aircraft that Youngstown reservists work with up close.
According to the release, more than 300 runners are expected to participate.
