A 16-year old from Beloit has been flown to Akron Children's hospital with serious injuries after being involved in an accident in Knox Township, Columbiana County.

Three others were also injured, but their injuries were minor according to Ohio State Patrol.

A report from OSP says the teen driver was traveling northbound on Homeworth Rd in his Ford Ranger pickup when he failed to yield at a stop sign while turning left onto US Rt. 62.

While turning, he struck an SUV driven by 60 year old Cheri Burke of Salem. Burke's vehicle subsequently struck a pickup, driven by 59 year old Ronal Duely of Landcaster.

The teen's Ford Ranger was then struck head-on by 67 year old Michael Garrett of Salem, ejecting the teen from his vehicle.

OSP reports that the teen was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The report also notes that it is unclear whether distracted driving or alcohol were factors in the crash, and that the accident remains under investigation.
