A road in Youngstown that is a popular shortcut between Mahoning Avenue and Route 46 is scheduled to close for three to four weeks beginning Monday.
According to Dominion Energy, Norquest Boulevard between State Route 46 and Raccoon Road is being closed for pipeline improvements.
According to Eastgate Council of Government Traffic Counts, anywhere between 4,800 and 6.800 cars and trucks use Norquest Boulevard each day.
Dominion Energy is replacing pipes made of materials such as bare steel, cast iron, wrought iron, and copper with pipes made of coated steel or plastic.
The project itself will last 180 days, but the road closure is only expected to last three to four weeks with the remainder of the project not affecting traffic.
