OSP has announced that on June 30th, in conjunction with the Mahoning County OVI Task Force, they will hold an OVI checkpoint on SR 224 in Boardman by the E Golf Hike & Bike lot.

The OVI checkpoint will be in place from 10:00pm on June 30th to 2:00am July 1st.

OVI Checkpoints are funded by federal grants, and aim to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

OSP says anyone planning to consume alcohol should make alternative arrangements to get home. 

Saturation patrols will also be conducted nearby to "aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes."
