WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man was handed his sentence in a Trumbull County Courtroom Wednesday afternoon for repeatedly raping a teenager.

Forty-three-year-old Francis LaCamera was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison on nine counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition for raping a 13-year-old girl from Hubbard multiple times.

He must also register as a Tier 3 sex offender for the rest of his life.

These charges originally include sexually violent predator specifications that would have added to his sentence, but he was found not guilty of all of them.

Regardless, Prosecuting Attorney Gabe Wildman tells 21 News he's satisfied with this sentence.

"This case went very smoothly, [Judge Cynthia Westcott-Rice] treated us very fairly, gave us a fair shake, which is all that we could ask for and at the end of the day, we're happy with the sentence issued," Wildman said.

A family member of the victim had told police they were unaware of the incidents. LaCamera had told the victim to keep the incidents a secret. According to a press release, these incidents took place over the course of a year.

Furthermore, LaCamera told the victim that it was her fault that the incidents happened and that her mother would be very mad at her.
