Mahoning Trumbull County arts organizations receive hundreds of thousands in grants

Ohio & Mahoning Valley - Various arts organizations in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties have received hundreds of dollars in grant funding.
The funding is all part of the second round of the Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant program, with Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine announcing over $20 million in grants to support 104 arts-based organizations in 33 counties.
In Mahoning County the Butler Institute of American Art has received $319,331.30.
According to a press release, the Butler will be using these funds to cover operating expenses including all aspects of accessibility, improvements to art storage, the presentation of a diverse schedule of group and solo exhibitions and accompanying educational programming.
Meanwhile in Trumbull County, JAC Management Packard LLC has received $65,646.79.
According to a statement sent to 21 News from JAC Management Group and JAC Live Vice President, Ken Bigley, the funds will primarily be used for employee recruitment and training, as well as cover ever-increasing operational costs.
Additionally, Opera Western Reserve in Mahoning County Received $12,035.60 and Youngstown Symphony Society Inc. in Mahoning County has received $106,460.
Stambaugh Auditorium Grants and Funds Assistant, Isabella Schaeden tells 21 News the Opera Western Reserve Grant will go towards the production of "Carmen" on Friday, November 14 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center and the Youngstown Symphony Society will be using the funds for its upcoming season.
