The death of 13-year-old Boardman child David Evans cold case solved after nearly 50 years
BOARDMAN, Ohio - A Boardman Police Captain is scheduled to be honored Monday night for his work in solving a 50-year-old cold case.
Boardman Township Administrator, Jason Loree tells 21 News Captain Albert Kakascik will be honored at Monday night's trustees meeting for his work on the cold case of David Evans.
During a press conference in June of 2023, Boardman Police linked the death of then 13-year-old David Evans in 1975 to Joseph Norman Hill, the same man found to be the culprit in the death of Bradley Bellino in 1972.
Hill had died before he was revealed to be the culprit in both murders, dying in Yucapia, California in 2019.
