CALCUTTA, Ohio -  Crews used boats, lights, and a helpful dispatcher to rescue some people who got lost while floating on inner tubes on Beaver Creek near the state line in Columbiana County late Thursday.

According to the Calcutta Fire Department, dispatchers sent members out with a rescue boat just after 10:30 p.m.

About a half hour after getting the call, the fire and rescue crew brought the tubers from the water into their boat and took them safely to shore.

Firefighters are giving a shout-out to a dispatcher who tracked a cell phone to provide them with a precise location of the tubers, helping reduce the time of the search.

The Ohioville Volunteer Fire Department also took part in the search.

The night wasn't over yet for the ten fire volunteers.  After the rescue, they were sent to Grimms Bridge Road where power lines had set fire to tree branches.

Crews doused a hillside with water to prevent the brush fire from spreading.
