Police in Warren are investigating the suspected drug overdose of a 16-week-old baby.

According to a police report, police and EMTs were called to The Elms high-rise apartments on Plaza Avenue Wednesday evening after a babysitter reported that the baby boy she was watching had stopped breathing.

The baby, whose skin was reported to be turning gray, was rushed to a hospital, and given the opiate overdose antidote Narcan because EMTs suspected a drug overdose.

Police say the infant, who was revived after receiving the Narcan, was transferred to Akron Children’s Hospital.

The case has been referred to Children’s Services as police continue their investigation.
