Warren man arrested near Pittsburgh with $7,000 worth of stolen clothing
A Warren man was arrested near Pittsburgh after police found $7,000 worth of brand-name clothing in his possession.
According to a Facebook post from the Frazer Township Police Department in Allegheny County, police arrested 25-year-old Angelo Dowdell of Warren on Tuesday in a Macy's parking lot.
Police say Dowdell had a large bag line with metal tape, which is commonly used to bypass security sensors in stores that sell brand-name clothing.
After obtaining a search warrant for Dowdell's vehicle, police found $7,000 worth of stolen clothing from various brands including Nike, GAP and Polo. Police say he provided a false identification.
Police say Dowdell was wanted in three separate counties in Ohio, as well as Allegheny County in Pennsylvania for firearms possession, receiving stolen property and escape charges.
He was arrested on these warrants, as well as other charges including multiple counts of retail theft, false identification to law enforcement and possession of instruments of crime.
He was arraigned in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Wednesday, July 12 and will be back on July 24 for a preliminary hearing.
