A Youngstown man was arrested for multiple drug offenses July 12 after officers responded to a back up request by the Community Police Unit (CPU) and Youngstown Code Enforcement.

Raymond Atkins, 36, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of drug possession for schedule one and two substances, criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia and having weapons under disability.

According to police reports, officers for the CPU and the Youngstown Code Enforcement were dispatched to a house on the 500 block of Harmon due to reports of a male and female being on a property that was recently red tagged.

When they arrived they saw Atkins and Roxanne Ford on the property. Further investigation of the property revealed the couple had been inside of the property's garage, where several bags of marijuana, meth, fentanyl and mushrooms were in plain sight.

The officers also saw several pipes and bowls as well as a scale with residue on it.

Police arrived on scene and arrested Atkins because he was listed as the homes owner and several forms of paperwork listing him as the current resident were found on the property.

Atkins also admitted to being inside the garage to work on his vehicles while the property was red tagged.
