A judicial release hearing is scheduled next month for a Beaver Township woman who has served three-and-a-half months of a year-long prison sentence for a deadly crash in Youngstown.

Judge Anthony D’Onofrio has set an August 10th hearing for 24-year-old Jayce Klink, who was convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault for a deadly traffic accident along Interstate 680.

On the night of December 2. 2020, witnesses said they saw Klink drive the wrong way up the exit ramp off of Marshal Street, continuing south in the northbound lane, swerving to miss other cars, and ultimately crashing head-on with a Chevy Impala. The passenger of the Chevy, Tiara Whatley, died in the accident.

Tiara’s sister, Sharinda Whatley, who was driving the Impala, sustained severe injuries. They were both driving home from a family member's funeral that night.

Earlier this month Ohio Parole Authorities recommended Klink for transitional control, which could result in Klink being assigned to a halfway house.

She has been deemed eligible at this time; however, the final approval process is not completed.

Judge D’Onofrio has ordered that Klink be transported from the Dayton Correctional Institution to the Mahoning County Jail where she will await the judicial release hearing.
