Mercer County couple accused of running meth lab with kids at home

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - State Police have accused a man and a woman of making methamphetamine at a home where children were present.
A complaint filed against 42-year-old Shandale Ridgway and 41-year-old Timothy Fabian alleges that authorities found chemicals like drain cleaner and other materials in a home the pair shared on Perry Highway in Springfield township.
The materials, found in a bin in their basement during a parole search, were consistent with items needed to make meth through what’s known as the “one pot” method, according to the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Laboratory Response Team.
The DEA says the One Pot method allows meth production in a single vessel that produces gases that are both toxic and volatile. Police say three children were in the home when the search took place in September 2020.
The two were arraigned Tuesday on eight counts each, which included operating a meth lab, possessing ephedrine, and making meth with children present. Their bonds were set at $10,000 each.
Another court hearing is scheduled for next week.
